Job summary

Sobeys in Calgary is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to help customers locate fresh, high-quality meat and seafood, assist with orders, prepare and package products, and maintain appealing, well-stocked displays.

You will follow Food Safety Protocols, support inventory control, and contribute to a positive shopping experience through friendly service and teamwork with the store team.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20lbs and perform standing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
