Job summary

Sobeys in Canada is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to assist customers, prepare and package meat and seafood products, and keep displays stocked and appealing. You will help maintain fresh, high-quality products and ensure food safety standards are met, contributing to a positive shopping experience.

You will develop skills in food preparation, merchandising, and customer service within a supportive team focused on quality and friendly service.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above-average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift up to 20 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
