Job summary

AgeCare South Terrace in Edmonton, AB, is seeking a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our casual care team. The HCA will work under a Staff Nurse to deliver safe, basic resident care and support daily living activities.

The successful candidate will have at least one year of continuing care experience, English fluency, a PCA/HCA certificate, and active CLHA registration. We offer training, benefits, and opportunities for growth within AgeCare.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents to promote comfort under water temp controls.
• Assist with transfers using lifts and PPE.
• Feed residents during meals and follow care plans for diets.
• Provide routine treatments and care procedures under supervision.
• Assist residents to travel around the facility and to dining/activities.
• Escort residents to beauty parlor, physiotherapy, and recreation activities.
• Accompany residents to social and therapy functions within the facility.
