Job summary

AgeCare in Edmonton, AB is seeking a dedicated Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team and support residents with daily living activities under the supervision of a Staff Nurse.

You will assist with bathing, feeding, transfers, medications as directed, and participate in therapy and social activities to promote residents' comfort and wellbeing. Must have PCA/HCA certificate and CLHA registration, and be fluent in English.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Completion of a recognized Personal Care Aide (PCA/HCA 2002 or greater) Certificate Course or Equivalent Education Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to care plan.
• Assist with transfers and mobility using appropriate equipment.
• Feed residents during meals and nourishment/snack times.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel within the facility and attend activities.
• Support residents with dining and social/recreational activities.
