Job summary

AgeCare is hiring a Health Care Aide (HCA) to join our care team in Edmonton. Under the supervision of a Staff Nurse, you will provide safe basic care and daily living support to residents.

Responsibilities include bathing, feeding, transfers, and assisting with activities to promote comfort and well-being. English fluency and a PCA/HCA certificate are required; prior continuing care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents according to care plans.
• Assist with transfers using lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed residents during meals and nourish/snack times.
• Provide routine treatments under supervision of a Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents with mobility and social activities.
• Support residents to and from dining rooms and activities.
