Job summary

North Wellington Health Care is seeking a casual MDRD Reprocessing Technician to join the Nursing Department at Palmerston & District Hospital and Louise Marshall Hospital, with Louise Marshall as homesite. The role is cross-site and unionized under OPSEU Local 226.

Responsibilities include MDRD operations across decontamination, sterile processing, portering and dispatch, and maintaining records. Training in Central Service Techniques and CSA certification (or willingness to obtain) are

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterile department, re cross infection and decontamination.
• Successful completion of the Central Service Techniques Course.
• CSA Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in all MDRD areas: decontamination, sterile, portering & dispatch, records maintenance.
• Detail orientated with utmost accuracy; follow strict procedures & protocols.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment.
• Satisfactory performance, attendance, and references required.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required prior to start.
• Pre-Employment Health Assessment required before hire.

Responsibilities

MDRD REPROCESSING TECHNICIAN

(CASUAL)

A casual cross-site MDRD Reprocessing Technician position is available within our Nursing Department at the Palmerston & District Hospital and Louise Marshall Hospital, sites of North Wellington Health Care. The homesite for this position is Louise Marshall Hospital.

This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of sterile department, re cross infection and decontamination
• Successful completion of the Central Service Techniques Course
• CSA Certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience in all areas of MDRD, including decontamination area, sterile area, portering and dispatch, and record maintenance
• Detail orientated with demonstrated aptitude for utmost accuracy; ability to adhere to strict procedures & protocols
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast, often time pressured and constantly changing environment
• Satisfactory performance and attendance required
• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
• Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired

WORKING CONDITIONS:

HOURS OF WORK:

SALARY:

$28.98 – $30.96 per hour
