Qualifications

Position Summary

As a Regional Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will provide comprehensive HR support to designated regional operations within McAsphalt. Acting as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to business leaders, you will play a critical role in aligning HR initiatives with business objectives and fostering a high-performance culture. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence people strategies and support meaningful change across the organization.

Responsibilities
Talent Management
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Development to ensure timely recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top talent.
  • Facilitate onboarding plans and follow-up touchpoints to support employee engagement and integration.
  • Support performance management processes including goal setting, mid-year check-ins, annual reviews, and improvement plans.
  • Conduct workforce planning and succession planning exercises to identify talent gaps and prepare future leaders.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for key talent.
Labour / Employee Relations
  • Serve as a key liaison between staff and management to address and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Provide balanced, objective advice to both employees and leadership to foster a respectful and compliant workplace.
  • Support investigations, mediation, coaching, and conflict resolution as required.
  • Represent the company in external relations with unions, arbitrators, and mediators when applicable.
Change Management
  • Act as a champion for organizational change by helping teams navigate transitions and new initiatives.
  • Identify change leaders and foster a culture of adaptability and growth.
  • Coach managers through periods of change to ensure effective implementation and team engagement.
Required Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR generalist experience in a medium to large organization.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is a strong asset.
  • Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead change, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); HRIS / ATS experience preferred (SuccessFactors an asset).
