Job Description:
Responsible for managing the flow of materials, ensuring timely and efficient production, in order to meet customer fill rates.
Scheduling and Production Control: 60%
- Schedule multiple production lines including creating and releasing workorders
- Production reporting and work order management
- Following up on production output and giving priorities to Production Manager
- Monitor and report out on Customer fill rates and recovery plans if not meeting target.
- Monitor Aftermarket inventory at multiple DC sites and react to potential shortages based on demand -including report out at Divisional S&OP meetings and weekly fill rate meetings
- Schedule and monitor Engineered Solutions customer orders and production completions to ensure on time/in full delivery to Customers
- Support the coordination and implementation of engineering/materials changes-Adding new parts to scheduling process
- Request and manage deviations through production process (updating workorders)
- Participate in trouble shooting inventory systems problem- inventory discrepancies, backflush variances
Material Planning 30%
- Place Purchase Orders for and monitor deliveries of raw materials- including expediting to meet schedules
- Monitor and approve Freight invoices, resolve invoice variances with suppliers
- Update Vendor Pricing in JDE system
- Set up new parts for new projects
Project and Continuous improvement 10 %
- Assist with identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the scheduling and planning functions and outside the department
- Monitor and adjust system setting for optimum Planning (safety stock, lead times, planning fences)
- Participate in new project launches for Aftermarket and Engineered Solutions Products
- Act as a backup for Order Entry, Inventory Control and Shipment paperwork
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum one year experience in a Material Planner / Scheduler or similar role
- APICS Certification (in process or completed), post-secondary education in Materials Management, or equivalent experience
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written to all levels within and outside the Organization.
- Working knowledge of TS / ISO system requirements and processes.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS applications, in particular: Excel, Outlook and Word
- Ability to multitask in a busy manufacturing environment
