Job description

Career Opportunity

Libro is growing – and Libro is hiring.
Our expansion plans include a series of new hires across southwestern Ontario. Take a look.
Who We Are

Imagine working for an organization where every employee and customer is an Owner. No matter whether a customer Owner or employee Owner, everything we do at Libro is about helping people prosper. We recruit and develop high-quality candidates like you who are ready to offer the best possible advice, coaching and service, when and how our Owners need it.

Libro invests heavily in the development and career ambitions of our staff. Our hiring philosophy is focused on finding candidates who carry a positive attitude, a desire to learn, and a passion for helping our staff and Owners (customers) grow financial confidence. We commit to teaching and supporting you as you learn the skills you need.

What Opportunity Awaits?

As we continue to grow, Libro is on a mission to find a passionately accountable full-time Financial Planner supporting our London Elgin Oxford region, the London Downtown and London West locations.

The Financial Planner will take a proactive approach to helping the mass affluent segment of Owners achieve their financial goals – including understanding each Owner’s financial situation, life goals and tolerance for risk. The Financial Planner will work with other members of branch & regional teams to ensure all opportunities are identified and referred to the appropriate representatives to build a full financial relationship with Owners. Financial Planners must believe in the long-term power of investment markets to generate excess returns over savings and/or other guaranteed deposits. They will communicate this belief to Owners, colleagues, and potential investors. This role is designed for experienced Wealth professionals looking to grow their practice management skills, with an emphasis on planning and observational coaching. Commitment to the ongoing knowledge and expectations as outlined on the Financial Planner role map.

This role is dually employed between Libro Credit Union and Aviso Wealth.

The successful candidate will:

  • Build relationships with up to ~300 Owner households of ~$85,000 - $450,000 in investable assets appropriate for managed investment solutions.
  • Proactively engage with Owners and prospects by responding to referrals, data insights and market intelligence to grow portfolio.
  • Translate Owner goals and priorities into modular based financial planning software.
  • Refer opportunities seamlessly to appropriate specialists to match expertise to Owner’s identified needs, including Investment Specialist, Regional Financial Planner, Insurance Reps, as well as personal and business segment specialists.
  • Build relationships with industry professionals and community contacts across the region for ongoing business development.
  • Mentor and support peers and teams to identify referral opportunities and best meet Owner needs.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with internal teams and business segments to effectively service Owners and grow business.
  • Work with local Community Manager and assigned wealth support to create an ongoing business plan identifying activities and setting goals to achieve individual performance expectations and support regional wealth portfolio growth.
  • Meet the compliance of established Libro and regulatory policies, procedures and processes to effectively and accurately serve Owners.
  • Make smart risk decisions that protect our Owners and Libro.
  • Maintain all continuing education and licensing requirements of the various regulators and self-regulating organizations: e.g., OSC, CIRO, Aviso Wealth, FP Canada, etc.

Could this be you? Are you ready to join an exciting team at Libro?

  • Do you have a passion for growing prosperity in Southwestern Ontario by transforming banking through developing others and inspiring financial happiness?
  • Are you an Epic Human; joyful in your work, passionately accountable, a bold explorer and mutually inclusive?
  • Do you have a post-secondary diploma, business courses or related studies along with a PFP and/or QAFP and/or CFP designation?
  • Do you have 3-5 years of industry experience, with at least 2 years in a full-time managed investment role (mutual fund sales)?

Some of the ways we show Libro is an outstanding employer:

  • Competitive salaries and employee pension plans.
  • Comprehensive benefit package, with premiums paid for by Libro!
  • Generous vacation time.
  • Employee wellness programs.
  • Staff accounts and staff rates on products and services.
  • Staff appreciation programs and awards.
  • Career development opportunities including tuition assistance.
  • Many great perks and rewards; fitness club discounts, technology offers, travel and entertainment deals, just for being part of our great team!

If you're passionate about helping your community, interested in being part of a remarkable team, and want to do your part to strengthen financial well-being for a better tomorrow - we want to hear from you!
