PetroChina Canada Ltd. is recruiting for a Master Data Analyst to join the SCM team in Calgary. The MDA will create, validate and maintain procurement master data, ensuring data integrity and timely support for operations. Travel may be required to PCC sites as needed.

The role reports to the Deputy Director SCM and requires strong SAP MM experience, data analytics skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business, Data Analytics, SCM or related field.
  • 3-5 years in a Master Data role; 3+ years in oil and gas preferred.
  • SAP MM experience required.
  • Experience with material and service master records and warehouse processes.
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; high accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain centralized SAP material and service master data for projects and operations.
  • Validate all requests before creation/changes in the system.
  • Meet customer service level demands across domestic and third‑party locations.
  • Maintain data integrity by adhering to standards and ongoing monitoring.
  • Coordinate expansion of Materials Management master data usage as SAP expands.
  • Train staff on the creation and usage of master data.
  • Run MRP daily and validate MRPs; monitor inventory data for overstocking or stockouts.

PetroChina Canada is recruiting for a Master Data Analyst to join the SupplyChain Management (SCM) Team in Calgary.

Reportingto the Deputy Director SCM, the Master Data Analyst (MDA) will provide supportto the Master Data team to ensure the integrity of Company’s Master Datainitiatives. The MDA will be responsible for the creation, validation andmaintenance of procurement Master Data inclusive of material masters, servicemasters, inventory and performance data. Another key responsibility will beanalyzing and evaluating data for accuracy, as well as trouble shooting andresolving problems related to procurement master data.

The MDA position is akey component of Materials Management function to deliver standardized,accurate, consistent, robust data in a timely manner for the successfulexecution of Company operations.

This is a full-time in-office position. Sometravel may be required to PCC’s Oils Sands and Shale Gas sites.

Accountabilities:

The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Master Data Management:
  • Createand maintain centralized SAP material and service master data records forCompany’s projects and operations
  • Validateall requests, identifying issues before creation/changes are made in the system
  • Meetcustomer service level demands in a timely manner with consideration tocustomers in various domestic and third-party locations
  • Ensurethe highest level of data integrity by adhering to defined standards andguidelines, by continuous monitoring, measurement, sustainment and improvementof Material and Service Master quality
  • Maintaindata integrity by performing periodic data cleansing activities incollaboration with various commercial and technical functional teams
  • Coordinateexpansion of Materials Managementmaster data usage in Company’s areas of operation as SAP usageis expanded
  • Communicatewith and train company staff from various disciplines on the creation and usageof master data
Elements of Materials Management:
  • Thisrole is very closely associated with the Materials Management function of theSupply Chain organization. MDA shall work very closely with Site WarehouseSupervisor, Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Planner, O&M Schedulerand the Buyers to execute the following tasks efficiently:
    • Run MRPon daily basis as per the established schedule, validating and amending any MRPRun errors, if any
    • Confirmaccuracy of MRP List against “Reservations”
    • Workclosely with O&M Planners and Schedulers to ensure conversion of PlannedOrders to Purchase Requisitions
    • Monitorand maintain MRP Attributes diligently.
    • RunInventory Management reports and analyze the inventory data to identifypotential overstocking/ stock outs in relation to the performance of masterdata MRP attributes.
    • Ensurethat the Category Structure is proactively maintained and all master datamanagement activities are completely aligned with it.
    • Ensurethat assignment or de-assignment of MRP controls to any new / returned materialis carried out in consultation with Warehouse Supervisor, Buyer and thebusiness unit personnel
    • Maintainproper backup documentation and approvals for such assignment / de-assignmentof MRP attributes.
Qualifications:
  • A degreein Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management or other related fieldfrom a recognized institution
  • 3-5years experience in a Master Data role, with a minimum of three years’ relatedexperience in the oil and gas industry
  • SAPexperience in the Materials Management module required
  • Experienceworking with material and service master records and warehouse processes willbe considered an asset
  • Solidskills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SAP
  • Superiororal and written skills to communicate with all levels internally andexternally
  • Demonstratedhigh level of accuracy and keen attention to details
  • Stronganalytical, critical thinking, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Strongorganizational and time management skills
  • Abilityto balance multiple competing priorities and to embrace ambiguity
  • Knowledgeof systems used by supply management
  • Willingnessto continuously learn about oilfield materials, equipment and services
  • Knowledgeof the Oil & Gas industry as it relates to procurement, contracts,materials management and inventory principles and practices will be consideredan asset
  • Knowledgeof oilfield materials, equipment and services will be considered an asset
