Job summary

PetroChina Canada Ltd. is recruiting for a Field Operator to join the Duvernay Team in Calgary. The Operator will respond to daily operations and maintenance activities while meeting production targets and supporting field optimization.

Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Coordinator, the role involves ensuring compliance with policies, entering SAP work orders, and maintaining HSSE and technical competency requirements. On-call nights are included.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of oilfield operations experience.
  • Fired Process Heater Operator Certificate or 4th Class Power Engineer certification would be an asset.
  • Exposure to unconventional gas operations and/or project experience an asset.
  • Current relevant safety qualifications i.e., H2S, First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Execute day to day operational activities.
  • Review Cygnet to check wells, identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work toward targets in safety, cost control, revenue generation, and reliability by maintaining process targets.
  • Enter and stamp vendor work tickets and manage SAP work orders.
  • Manage pigging, batching programs and chemical program.
  • Activate and respond to the emergency response plan and be on call during nights.

PetroChina Canada is recruiting for a Field Operator to join the Duvernay Teamin Calgary.

Reporting to theOperations and Maintenance Coordinator The Operator will respond to dailyoperations and maintenance activities while meeting production targets. TheOperator will support in optimizing field efficiency, performance andtroubleshooting.

Accountabilities

The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute day to day operational activities
  • Review Cygnet to check wells, identify problems and opportunities forimprovement and optimization
  • Work toward targets in the areas of safety, cost control, revenuegeneration, and organizational effectiveness by maintaining process targets
  • Share knowledge and provide expertise to assigned operating area
  • Act as focal point for troubleshooting, optimization and meetingoperations targets to control key costs and improved reliability
  • Complete facility and production logs
  • Conduct work in compliance with company policies, standards andprocedures
  • Ensure work orders are entered into SAP
  • Manage pigging, batching programs and chemical program
  • Manage PSV re-certification and Car seal program for the area andcoordinate with Integrity group
  • Maintain all HSSE and technical competency requirements
  • Promote consistency within operating areas with regards to operatingpractices and work quality
  • Complete required documentation and inspections
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization
  • Ensure cost tracking is maintained
  • Stamp, sign and code vendor work tickets, ensure rates and hours complywith work completed for Production Accounting purposes
  • Activate and respond to the emergency response plan
  • Be on call during nights while on regularly scheduled shifts
  • Assist Maintenance team as needed
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience in oilfield operations
  • Fired Process Heater Operator Certificate or 4th Class Power Engineercertification wouldbe an asset
  • Exposure to unconventional gas operations and/or project experience anasset
  • Current relevant safety qualifications i.e., H2S, First Aid
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well with diversepersonalities and work force
  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiplegroups
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills related to Cygnet, Microsoft Suite e.g., Excel, Word
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the timedemands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure andchallenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize work to achievethem
