Job description

Manufacturing Planning Manager (Long-Term Planning)
  • Manufacturing Planning Manager (Long-Term Planning)

We are a collective of disrupters and doers, of creatives and scientists, with a mission to reimagine the world of beauty.

Since inception, our vertically integrated structure, including our own laboratories, manufacturing, retail stores, and brand infrastructure, have enabled us to rapidly identify opportunities and deliver quality. Home to The Ordinary, NIOD, AVESTAN, and other emerging brands, our goal is to create with purpose. We were founded on the principle of doing everything that others don’t. Because normal gets you nowhere.

We are DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company.

We are growing rapidly and we’re looking for someone who shares this vision and wants to grow with us!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an agile Manufacturing Planning Manager (Long-Term Planning) with a bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering and proven experience in supply chain planning. You will develop and maintain an 18-month production schedule, adjust the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on monthly forecasts, and establish inventory safety targets to support long-term manufacturing plans and future business growth.

Advanced Excel skills, including macros, with the ability to automate processes, analyse operational data, prepare KPI reports and present planning insights and recommendations to senior leadership during monthly reviews, including S&OP meetings.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to balance production execution, inventory availability, weeks of coverage, fill rate performance, operational costs, lead times and excess and obsolescence risks while identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.

Experience in manufacturing environments, with knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), MRP processes and planning data integrity considered strong assets.

Excellent cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Commercial, Outsourcing and Product Development and Launch (PD&L) teams to manage third‑party production, mitigate risks associated with new initiatives and support business priorities.

A proactive, organised and adaptable approach to supporting new system implementations, supply chain projects and international expansion, including establishing processes in new markets and supporting compliance with global regulations. Experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food or other consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing environments would be an asset.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated salary range for this position is 105,000 to 118,000 CAD.

Exact Salary rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

  • Develop the 18-month Master Production Schedule, aligning demand forecasts, manufacturing capacity and business priorities.
  • Support production plan execution to ensure continuous inventory availability while managing inventory holding costs and minimizing obsolescence risk.
  • Coordinate with the Outsourcing department to execute third‑party production plans and establish contingency plans for unforeseen disruptions.
  • Develop and enhance planning performance metrics, including Net Attainment, Absolute Attainment and Capacity Utilization, and build business intelligence dashboards to provide real‑time insights into Manufacturing Planning and Operations.
  • Partner with Supply Planning to communicate priorities and ensure raw material and packaging availability in support of the Master Production Schedule.
  • Develop cost‑optimization strategies while maintaining high‑quality standards, and partner with Finance to identify and validate cost‑saving opportunities in production planning and new product supply.
  • Analyse operational lead times to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks, ensuring lead‑time data accurately reflected in the ERP system to support effective supply planning.
  • Lead supply chain planning projects, support new product supply planning and launches, and collaborate with the Product Development and Launch (PD&L) team to identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Lead international production expansion activities, collaborating with relevant teams to establish and optimize supply chain processes in new markets, ensure compliance with international regulations and standards, and keep projects on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the Manufacturing Planning Subject Matter Expert for the upcoming SAP implementation, ensuring processes, master data and system design align with business requirements while minimizing operational disruption.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE
