DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company, is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering for our Etobicoke Manufacturing Facility. This full-time, on-site role leads capital projects, drives process improvements, and partners with Quality, R&D, and Finance to achieve production and financial objectives.

You will oversee capital budgets, governance, and asset reliability while coaching the Engineering team and delivering high-value initiatives from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years engineering experience in FMCG/cosmetics/pharma manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; P.Eng. designation required.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, ICH, Health Canada, and cGMP guidelines.
• Proven ability to lead capital projects safely, on time, and within budget.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

The Senior Manager, Engineering leads the Manufacturing Engineering function, overseeing capital investments, engineering governance, and asset management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with DECIEM policies and applicable Canadian regulatory requirements. In addition to providing strategic leadership, this role leads and executes the site's most complex capital projects from concept through commissioning.

This role is responsible for capital projects, equipment upgrades, new product launches (NPDs and EPDs), and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant productivity, asset reliability, and operational performance. The role also manages capital budgets, engineering operations, and performance metrics to support the site's financial and operational objectives.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Validation, Technology Transfer, and other cross-functional teams, this role drives alignment and ensures the successful execution of capital investment projects and new product launches.

This position is based out of our Manufacturing Facility in Etobicoke. This is a full-time and permanent opportunity and requires candidates to work on-site 5-days a week.

PAY RANGE

The anticipated hourly range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000.

Exact hourly rate depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Hourly range may vary based on geographic location.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING IN THIS ROLE

• Own DECIEM's manufacturing capital investment strategy, including NPDs, EPDs, productivity, capacity, HSE, and sustainability initiatives.
• Personally lead the planning and execution of the site's most complex capital projects, ensuring successful delivery.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team, fostering a high-performing, agile, collaborative, and accountable culture.
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, technologies, and business performance.
• Lead and execute capital projects, personally managing the most complex and high-value initiatives while ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards
• Support new product launches (NPDs and EPDs), process optimization, and technical innovation.
• Partner with Quality, R&D, Technology Transfer, Operations, Maintenance, Finance and ELC (Estee Lauder Companies) Community of Practice to deliver DECIEM Manufacturing objectives.
• Drive project governance through capital planning, financial stewardship, risk management, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Manage contractors, suppliers, and external partners to ensure safe, cost-effective project delivery.
• Manage the engineering project portfolio, including resource planning, capital forecasting, D365 administration, and project close-out.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership throughout project execution, including engineering reviews, design decisions, equipment selection, commissioning, and startup support for complex projects.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive engineering experience in FMCG, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or related manufacturing industries.
• Strong process equipment expertise in manufacturing, with deep technical knowledge of mixing, filling, and packaging technologies
• In-depth understanding and application of industry standards, FDA, ICH, Health Canada, and cGMP guidelines
