Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Guelph, Ontario seeks a General Supervisor to oversee daily operations in the production department. You will lead Production Supervisors, drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets, and mentor teams to meet performance goals aligned with Linamar’s standards.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of production processes, lean manufacturing principles, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with employee legislation and safety standards.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the performance of Production Supervisors and their teams.
• Ensure daily production targets are met in terms of safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality to resolve production issues and improve efficiency.
• Monitor and report on KPIs for the production department and identify areas for improvement.
• Implement and uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead daily production meetings to track progress and provide solutions for continuous improvement.
• Develop and coach Production Supervisors, fostering teamwork, accountability, and growth.
• Assist in strategic planning and resource allocation to optimize production processes.
• Handle personnel matters such as hiring, performance evaluations, and discipline with HR coordination.
