Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Guelph, Ontario is seeking a Manager, Materials to oversee all materials management activities, including inventory planning, purchasing, and distribution. You will lead the materials team, coordinate with suppliers, and implement cost-saving strategies to ensure efficient production flow and quality.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and deep expertise in inventory management, purchasing, and supply chain processes.

Qualifications

Background in overseeing materials management including inventory planning, purchasing, and distribution.
Experience leading a materials team and implementing supply chain strategies for efficiency.

Responsibilities

Direct customer contact for orders, ensuring accurate scheduling and fulfillment.
Oversee materials management activities including inventory planning, purchasing, logistics, and distribution to support production.
Supervise and train materials personnel on standards.
Lead physical inventories and prepare monthly/quarterly reports to optimize plant capacity and material flow.
Monitor supplier compliance and performance, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery, while minimizing transport costs.
