Job summary

Westwood Cabinetry, a Kelowna-based Canadian manufacturer, seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Costing Accountant to lead the finance function and strengthen cost controls across manufacturing operations.

Reporting to the President, you will oversee costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, partnering with production, procurement, and senior leadership to drive margin improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressive cost accounting/finance leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience with product costing, job costing, and inventory valuation.
• Ability to mentor accounting staff and influence senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership across costing, inventory, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Own and improve costing methodologies for raw materials, direct labour, overhead, and BOMs.
• Analyze variances, investigate price, usage, efficiency, and overhead absorption variances.
• Prepare COGS validation and gross margin analyses by product series and channel.
• Lead budgeting, rolling forecasts, and management dashboards with actionable insights.
• Partner with operations, procurement, engineering, and sales to improve margins and data integrity.
