Westlake Chemical is seeking a Sr. Accountant to manage plant accounting, oversee P&L and balance sheet for a manufacturing site, and support cost control initiatives. You will collaborate with Operations and corporate teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to internal controls.

The role involves month-end close, variance analysis, budgeting, and capex forecasting within a multi-location manufacturing environment. CPA or CMA preferred; degree in accounting required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA, CMA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Cost accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with A/P, GL, payroll, inventories, fixed assets, cash accounting and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Own the plant P&L, manufacturing statements, and balance sheet accounts.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and annual close with accruals and journal entries.
• Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation.
• Analyze variances pre- and post-close and prepare reporting packages.
• Maintain inventories, fixed assets, and related costing accuracy.
• Support inventory and fixed asset counts and period verifications.
• Assist with cost savings and profit improvement programs.
