Job summary

Recruiting In Motion - Eastern Ontario is seeking a full-time Cost Accountant in Vaughan, Ontario. The role focuses on analyzing cost data to improve financial performance and ensure accurate reporting to support business decisions.

The candidate will maintain cost accounting records, perform variance analyses, and reconcile inventory with the general ledger. A degree in accounting/finance is required, with CPA preferred and at least five years in manufacturing cost accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA designation preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years of cost accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing.
• Solid knowledge of cost accounting principles and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, systems and processes.
• Prepare cost variance and trend analyses.
• Analyze estimated costs within BOMs.
• Reconcile perpetual inventory with GL and physical counts.
• Ensure accuracy of WIP, scrap, rework and inventory adjustments.
• Identify obsolete items and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting.
