Job summary

Recruiting In Motion - Eastern Ontario in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Cost Accountant to maintain and improve cost accounting systems, BOM data, and pricing within the ERP.

You will evaluate production costs, implement supplier cost changes, and ensure accurate inventory counts and reports; collaboration with teams and executives is essential. Salary range CAD 88k–94k with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CMA advantageous.
• 3+ years in accounting or finance, with cost accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and large database manipulation.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving; interpret financial data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; present to executives.
• Familiarity with ERP systems in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze cost accounting system design, build, and maintenance of records and processes.
• Update bill of materials information to reflect current costs and processes.
• Implement supplier cost increases into the costing system.
• Evaluate production costs, overhead, labor and inventory for savings opportunities and report findings.
• Maintain pricing structure within the ERP and track changes to costs and margins.
• Update pricing pages for products maintained outside the system.
• Provide custom pricing for items not in the system for costing and mark-ups.
• Participate in inventory counts and valuation; ensure records are accurate.
