Purpose of the position: Manage and lead a team of employees working on track construction projects, providing leadership for safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred; candidates with 5+ years of thermite and/or flash butt welding experience are ideal.

Position accountabilities:

  1. Mentor an average of 12 direct reports to improve efficiency and accountability.
  2. This position involves 100% travel (expenses covered by CPKC), on an 8 on, 6 off schedule.
  3. Territory covers Chapleau to Dorian and ending in Windsor.
  4. Review planned capital work, confirm material and execution requirements.
  5. Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for track projects.
  6. Promote and implement CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures.
  7. Participate in developing and implementing work processes for continuous improvement.

Position requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Construction and/or manufacturing management background considered in lieu of railway experience.
  3. 5+ years of supervisory experience in Track Renewal/Maintenance preferred.
  4. Solid understanding of Red Book, SPC's, GEI.
  5. Ability to lead project plans and schedules.
  6. People leadership skills.
  7. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
