PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Manage and lead a team of employees working on track construction projects. Provide leadership accountability for safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred, but candidates with a solid construction and/or manufacturing management background will also be considered.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for track projects.
  2. Promote and implement CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures among direct reports.
  3. Participate in developing and implementing work processes that achieve continuous improvement.
  4. Mentor team members to improve efficiency and accountability.
  5. Review planned capital work, confirm material and execution requirements.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Construction and/or manufacturing management experience is acceptable in lieu of railway experience.
  3. 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in track renewal/maintenance preferred.
  4. Understanding of Red Book, SPC's, GEI.
  5. Ability to lead project planning and scheduling.
  6. People leadership skills.
  7. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

MANAGEMENT CONDUCTOR PROGRAM:

Opportunity to become a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer, with certification and ongoing qualification requirements.
