Manage and lead a team of employees working on track construction projects. Provide leadership accountability for safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred; however, candidates with 5+ years of thermite and/or flash butt welding experience are ideal.

Operating safely is core to CPKC. All new hires for safety-sensitive positions must complete a pre-employment medical including physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug assessments. Pre-employment drug tests are also required, including for trainees before final qualification.
The successful candidate must pass criminal history, reference, education, and driver’s license checks.
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is a key way for management employees to learn the business. Certification or maintenance of current certification may be required.
