SUMMARY
The Video Production Manager role is where coordination meets execution. You'll spend most of your time (70%) orchestrating the behind-the-scenes magic—managing team schedules, refining processes, balancing workloads and building strong relationships with partners and vendors. The other 30% puts you right in the heart of production, leading budgets, crews, logistics and client communications from start to finish. It's a role for someone who thrives on balancing the art of project management with the fast-paced world of production, blending operational precision with creative energy to bring projects to life.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
70% — Video Operations Manager
- Assign video projects based on team capacity and skillsets.
- Monitor project timelines, workloads and adjust resources as needed.
- Manage external freelancers and production partners, including onboarding, quotes and contracts.
- Oversee project budgets to ensure profitability and meet margin targets.
- Refine workflows and drive efficiency across the video department.
- Ensure legal compliance on projects (NDAs, insurance, contracts).
- Use project management software to manage team schedules and project tracking.
30% — Video Producer
- Develop production estimates and manage budgets through all project phases.
- Hire and coordinate production crews; lead pre-production meetings.
- Manage vendors and crew contracts, onboarding and invoicing.
- Organize on-set logistics (gear, rentals, catering, permits, insurance).
- Act as main client contact throughout production.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of experience in video production or creative operations management.
- Strong project management and scheduling skills.
- Experience managing budgets, vendors and crews.
- Knowledge of legal and insurance requirements for production.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Background in advertising, marketing or creative agency work preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel within North America for production shoots as needed.
