Reporting to the Executive Director-Human Resources, the Manager, HR Operations, is responsible for developing and delivering the Human Resources priorities aligned with Bethany’s strategic Business Plan. This role ensures Bethany achieves its vision, mission, and values. Acting as a partner to the Operations Leadership Team and Site Administrators, the Manager provides strategic workforce solutions and ensures HR operational commitments support resident and tenant care. Leading a team of 7 HR members, the Manager oversees:

  • Labour & Employee Relations
  • Recruitment and Retention
  • Processes, Procedures, and Service Level Agreements

What You Will Do

Accountable for the development, reporting, and delivery of HR priorities for Bethany’s strategic business plan. Performance measures include:

  • Engaging leaders across departments to support people objectives and business priorities
  • Preparing quarterly reports for the COO, Quality, Ethics and Safety Committee, and organizational Business Strategy

Accountable for the strategic development and delivery of Bethany’s HR Operations. Performance measures include:

  • Ensuring labour relations activities align with Bethany’s Labour Strategy
  • Providing guidance to HR teams and sites
  • Staying informed of industry and provincial labour activity and sharing impacts on Bethany’s Labour Strategy
  • Building relationships with industry professionals to stay informed of HR best practices in Continuing Care
  • Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Ensuring consistent application of policies, collective agreements, procedures, and standards
  • Investigating employee misconduct, respect in the workplace, conflict of interests, safety, and resident care concerns
  • Building meaningful relationships with stakeholders with confidence and customer service orientation
  • Developing talent strategies to attract and retain high performers and healthcare workers
  • Overseeing engagement initiatives like Top Employer, Scholarships & Awards, and exit interviews
  • Informing Executive Leadership of emerging HR operational issues
  • Supporting legal counsel with sensitive files and litigation preparation
  • Coordinating workflow activities of direct reports
  • Maintaining high performance standards and service excellence
  • Utilizing external consultants when appropriate and managing these relationships

What You Bring :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) preferred
  • 7+ years’ progressive HR experience, including Labour & Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition
  • 2+ years in a management role
  • Healthcare experience is an asset
  • Experience in complex ability, accommodation, and performance management case management
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-union workplaces is an asset
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and HRIS platforms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
