Position Summary

Manager Human Resources Operations

Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Manager, HR Operations will oversee HR strategies, services, policies, and programs for manufacturing operations in Calgary and Victoria. The role involves acting as a trusted advisor, ensuring effective HR service delivery, and supporting organizational goals.

This individual should excel in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity, drive process improvements, and handle multiple priorities. Strong communication, organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and team collaboration are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team.
  • Implement and enforce HR policies consistently across the organization.
  • Support workforce planning to meet current and future needs.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition for full-cycle recruitment, sourcing, and reporting.
  • Provide HR reporting and represent HR in weekly program review meetings.
  • Drive employee engagement through surveys, communication, and action plans.
  • Coach management to enhance leadership capabilities.
  • Execute core HR programs including performance management, compensation, succession planning, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure disciplinary processes comply with policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist in organizational design for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver training and HR services.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or CPHR preferred.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership HR role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Proven leadership, team development, and operational skills.
  • Experience with HR systems and technology.
  • Strong business acumen and HR service orientation.
