Job summary

GardaWorld in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Management Development Specialist to plan, coordinate, and enroll client and internal training programs across the region for onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary diploma or degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with audit learning & teaching programs.
  • Intimate understanding of the aviation security screening industry.

Responsibilities

  • Plan initial hire and recurrent training for front line management, oversee and deliver aviation-specific training programs (in-house).
  • Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g., simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes).
  • Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions.
  • Conduct an organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that must be addressed.
  • Use known education principles and stay up to date on new training methods and techniques.
  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials.
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs/KBIs.
  • Gather feedback from trainees after each session.
  • Partner with external stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Host train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment.
  • Research and recommend new training methods, like gamification.

Job Summary

The Management Development Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and enrolling client and internal training programs throughout the region for onboarding new hires and professional development and certification maintenance of all employees. As the specialist in management training, they will lead learners to take an active role in their learning by providing ample opportunities to interact with the content. The Management Development Specialist delivers content to managers using various teaching techniques, such as gamification, which ensures learners can test their knowledge as they go, gain instant feedback, and test knowledge retention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Building and Communication:must be able to support the development of a healthy internal culture that retains vital employees and holds individuals accountable to company or regulatory standards.Facilitate coordination and communication between departments and functions.

  • Presentations: Is effective in a variety of formal and informal presentation settings, including one-on-one, small, and large groups, with peers. Manage group processes during any presentation and reflects agility to meet the audience requirements.
Working Conditions
  • 5% to 10% of this position is travel-based, within Canada.
  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to - standing, lifting, sitting for prolonged periods, extensive use of a computer/electronic device.
  • Ability to mentally focus and concentrate for prolonged periods.Ability to facilitate in person sessions that requires standing, sitting, walking, speaking, and directing participation of small (3 to 4 people) to large (20 to 50 people) groups during regular business hours over multiple days.
  • Exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Work near others. Will share the same workspace and work with people from varying organizational levels, divisions, departments and geographical locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely with little to no supervision.
  • No set schedule - may need to work or travel outside of regular work hours.
  • Overtime can be controlled but may be required dependent on program needs.
  • Works with little to no direct supervision on routine tasks.
  • Salary - 75,000- 85,000 CAD
