Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Pre-Board Screening Officer at Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to screen passengers and their belongings with precision and professionalism. You will ensure compliance with national aviation security standards and prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, eligibility for RAIC clearance (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency), and bilingual English/French communication to serve an international

Qualifications

• Eligible to obtain aviation security clearance (RAIC) which requires Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
• Ability to work on-site at Ottawa International Airport (YOW).
• Bilingual: English and French required to serve international clientele.

Responsibilities

• Screen passengers and their belongings with rigour and professionalism in compliance with national aviation security standards.
• Ensure prohibited items do not access secure areas.
• Manage access to restricted areas with vigilance.
• Remain alert and respond quickly to alarms, incidents and violations.
• Document and report security-related incidents, violations, and concerns.

What Your Days Will Look Like

Screen passengers and their personal belongings with rigour, professionalism, and in compliance with national aviation security standards

Ensure that no prohibited items gain access to secure areas

Manage access to restricted areas consistently and with vigilance

Remain alert and respond quickly to alarms, incidents, and violations

Respond promptly and professionally to security alerts, alarms, and potential threats

Accurately document and report security-related incidents, violations, and concerns

What We're Looking For

A high school diploma or GED equivalent

A clean criminal record with eligibility to obtain the required aviation security clearance (RAIC), which requires Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Ability to work on-site at Ottawa International Airport (YOW) in Ottawa

Bilingualism (English and French) is required to effectively serve an international clientele
