Job summary

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Dartmouth team. You will fit and install trim, maintain and renovate residences, and perform general maintenance including painting.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in a similar role, a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle, and the ability to work in a team or independently. Interest in electrical apprenticeship, plumbing, HVAC experience, or renovations are assets.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Interest in pursuing an electrical apprenticeship is an asset.
• Ability to work as part of a team, and also under minimal supervision.
• Renovations experience is considered an asset.
• Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC experience is considered an asset.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and renovate residences.
• General maintenance and painting.
• Knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.
• Participation in an on‑call rotation.
