Job summary

Killam Apartment REIT in Fredericton, NB, is seeking a Red Seal Plumber for a full-time role. The position runs Monday to Friday during daytime hours with an on-call rotation every thirteenth week.

The plumber will read blueprints, install and maintain plumbing systems, and participate in an on-call schedule. Requirements include completion of an Apprenticeship or trade certification, reliability, interpersonal skills, teamwork, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and specs to plan plumbing layout.
• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing.
• Locate and mark pipe connections and fixtures in walls and floors.
• Cut openings in walls/floors for pipes and fittings.
• Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes with tools.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, cement or soldering.
• Test pipes for leaks with air and water pressure gauges.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• May complete non-plumbing tasks as needed.
• Other duties as required.

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.5 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. We are looking for an energetic and experienced Red Seal Plumber to join our team in Fredericton on a full-time basis. This role is Monday to Friday during daytime hours with participation in an on-call rotation every thirteenth week.

What you will do:

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems;
• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems;
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors;
• Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings;
• Measure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tolls or machines;
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment;
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges;
• Participate in the on-call rotation;
• May complete non plumbing related tasks from time to time;
• Other duties as required.
