Job summary

HERD is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Manitoba team. You will maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, troubleshoot equipment, and perform preventative maintenance on production lines and robotic systems.

The role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, reading technical drawings, and a hands‑on approach to maintenance. The shift is full‑time, Mon–Fri, 3:30 PM–11:30 PM, at 2168 Springfield Road. Excellent benefits and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with robotic or automated equipment is an asset.
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to diagnose common electrical issues.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, a hands‑on approach to equipment maintenance, and the ability to identify and resolve issues with minimal supervision. This role is critical to keeping our production equipment and facility operating safely and efficiently.

Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: 2168 Springfield Road (no bus routes)
Shift: Full-time, Monday – Friday 3:30PM - 11:30PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision.

• Diagnose equipment issues and repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems.

• Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules to minimize equipment downtime.

• Troubleshoot and maintain robotic and automated production equipment.

• Perform facility maintenance and general repairs as required.

• Clean, lubricate, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on production equipment.

• Conduct safety inspections and equipment checks to identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.

• Read and interpret technical manuals, equipment documentation, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

• Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical and control‑system issues.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues and completed repairs to the appropriate team members.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests.

• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area and work environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

• Experience repairing and maintaining robotic or automated equipment is an asset.

• Basic electrical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot common electrical issues.

• PLC knowledge or experience is an asset.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem‑solving skills.

• Strong sense of urgency with a proven ability to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production needs.

• Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

• Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a team‑based manufacturing environment.
