Job summary

HERD North America is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Winnipeg facility. The role focuses on keeping production equipment safe, reliable, and efficient, with hands-on maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

You’ll diagnose issues, perform preventative work, and support automation and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in mechanical maintenance, basic electrical knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills, with excellent English

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required.
• Experience with robotic or automated equipment is an asset.
• Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics and drawings.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with good communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose equipment issues and replace defective parts or components.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and maintain robotic and automated production equipment.
• Perform general facility maintenance as required.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics and drawings for repairs.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance, and the ability to identify and resolve issues with minimal supervision. This role is critical to keeping our production equipment and facility operating safely and efficiently.

Full-time, Monday - Friday 3:30PM - 11:30PM

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose equipment issues and repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance according to established schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot and maintain robotic and automated production equipment.
• Perform facility maintenance and general repairs as required.
• Clean, lubricate, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on production equipment.
• Conduct safety inspections and equipment checks to identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, equipment documentation, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Assist with troubleshooting basic electrical and control-system issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues and completed repairs to the appropriate team members.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance area and work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience repairing and maintaining robotic or automated equipment is an asset.
• Basic electrical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot common electrical issues.
• PLC knowledge or experience is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong sense of urgency with a proven ability to respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production needs.
• Ability to organize and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
