Qualifications

Job description

Reports to: Engineering and Maintenance Manager

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. The Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. This role is hourly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical).
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machines, press brakes, welders, conveyors, and fabrication tools.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs to reduce production downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including parts used and time spent on jobs.
  • Assist with installation, relocation, and setup of new equipment and systems.
  • Operate, set up, and troubleshoot laser and plasma cutting machines (Trumpf, Bystronic, Fiber, CO2).
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support operational goals and continuous improvement.
  • Manage tools, parts, and supplies inventory; order replacements as needed.
  • Support departmental goals by performing other duties as required.
  • Follow all operational procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality, and Environmental programs (IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
Education, Skills & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role, ideally in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding/fabrication tools.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience is an asset.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
