Job summary

The Wickaninnish Inn Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support both indoor and outdoor upkeep, including guest areas and public spaces.

You will perform general maintenance, landscape duties, and project work such as painting and carpentry, while ensuring safety and service standards in all weather conditions. You should be physically capable of heavy lifting and working in varied environments, with a strong guest-service mindset and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

This position will be responsible for a range of general maintenance duties. At times this will be a physically demanding position requiring heavy lifting and involving a wide variety of assignments, some of which will be outdoors. The candidate must be physically able to perform such tasks in any type of weather, often with short notice. The successful candidate should be well versed in Guest Service, as they will have many opportunities to be dealing with guests, either in guestrooms or in public spaces.

As a Maintenance Technician you will:

• Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux and Forbes, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond Standards.
• Be true to Our Promise, meet and exceed the service philosophies and standards of the Inn.
• Be part of a team who is responsible for the daily maintenance of guestrooms and public spaces.
• Be responsible for landscaping duties, and general grounds work.
• Handle project work such as painting, carpentry and equipment maintenance.
• Be part of a team who is responsible for Interior and Exterior building maintenance.
• Assist in helping to maintain a schedule-based program of preventative maintenance.
• Handle equipment maintenance including bicycle fleet upkeep.
• Manage furniture restoration and repair.
• Work in the outdoors for a variety of tasks.

• A valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Applicants must be eligible for a BC Class 5 driver’s license and have a minimum of two years of clean driving experience in their home country.
• The ability to make a commitment to the position for a mutually understood and agreed upon period of time.

Salary/Wage: $21.00 - $28.85 per hour depending on experience.
