Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on, guest-oriented individual who considers themselves a "jack-of-all-trades". Using power tools and hand tools, our maintenance team provides general labour, maintenance assistance, and preventative maintenance functions for the Maintenance Department of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain the overall good repair of hotel rooms, including all facilities, furnishings, and fixtures.
2. Complete all work orders as assigned and in a timely manner.
3. Repair and maintain hotel room heating/ventilation systems.
4. Perform general plumbing tasks such as repairing sinks, toilets, tubs/showers.
5. Assist with renovation projects and upgrades.
6. Assist with maintaining the kitchen, laundry, pool, spa, and fitness areas and equipment.
7. Communicate effectively with all other hotel departments, including housekeeping, front desk, and F&B.
8. Ensure the upkeep of common areas and grounds.
9. Perform scheduled routine maintenance on equipment.
10. Respond to guest and staff requests in rooms and public spaces.
11. Use both power and hand tools in a safe, efficient manner.
12. Perform other related duties as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Executive Team.

• A valid driver’s license is required.

Working Conditions:

The incumbent may work various shifts, with occasional overtime based on occupancy and staffing levels. Work is on-site.

Physical demands include long hours of walking, standing, sitting, bending, lifting, and reaching.

Environmental conditions involve use of equipment, tools, heat, and chemicals.

Sensory demands include managing multiple tasks simultaneously, frequent interruptions, and working in a busy, sometimes noisy environment requiring excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills.
