Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is an experienced and enthusiastic member of the Tayco Skilled Trades Team. This role ensures production equipment and facility infrastructure operate efficiently and safely by performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks. The Maintenance Technician plays a key part in maintaining high-quality standards for Tayco’s products by minimizing downtime and improving equipment functionality. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude to continuously support and enhance our manufacturing operations.

Job Duties
  1. Install, dismantle, align, move, and repair mechanical equipment, including but not limited to CNC machines, brake presses, punch presses, conveyors, and welding equipment.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  3. Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose causes, and carry out timely repairs using millwright knowledge and skills.
  4. Redesign or modify machinery and fixtures to support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  5. Operate a wide range of tools including hand tools, pneumatic tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, feeler gauges, and tape measures.
  6. Work with engineering and external contractors to source parts or complete specialized repairs as required.
  7. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of inspections and repairs.
  8. Follow all company SOPs, quality standards, and Health & Safety policies, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized Maintenance Area and work collaboratively with other shifts.
  10. Train new team members on equipment operation and start-up procedures.
  11. Communicate proactively with Maintenance Manager or Team Lead about any concerns with equipment, processes, or improvements.
  12. Suggest and implement improvements to increase production uptime and equipment reliability.
  13. Perform Building Maintenance including minor plumbing, yard maintenance, and general maintenance as needed.
  14. Participate in daily and weekly team meetings.
  15. Ensure the daily and weekly production schedule is adhered to.
  16. Comply with all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times, including wearing PPE in accordance with Tayco's policies.
  17. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
  18. Provide SOP process familiarization and orientation.
  19. Work overtime as required.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
