Duties & Responsibilities

1. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including testing and adjusting various systems such as steering, electrical, cooling, brakes, drive trains, suspensions, and engines, in compliance with all relevant regulations.
2. Oversee the implementation of NELLC maintenance and safety procedures at the local level, ensuring staff compliance and adherence to local legislation.
3. Manage the use of the enterprise asset management (EAM) ERP system and oversee local parts inventory and maintenance work orders.
4. Supervise maintenance staff and participate in preventive and unscheduled repairs.
5. Coordinate with other local operations functions such as driver care, route operations, and customer service.
6. Maintain high ethical standards and personal integrity, reporting concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior.

Qualifications

1. At least 5 years of fleet supervisor experience in a diesel shop with heavy/medium-duty fleets.
2. Minimum of five years of auto/truck or bus mechanical repair experience.
3. Experience ensuring compliance with DOT regulations for medium/heavy trucks.
4. Proficiency with computers and diagnostic tools.
5. Strong judgment, decision-making skills, and background in planning/scheduling maintenance.
6. Experience in parts inventory management, purchasing, and budget oversight.
7. Willingness to work flexible schedules.
