Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

Note:

• 100% onsite
• Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
• Valid driver's license is required, along with a clean driving record

Responsibilities:

• Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations
• Plan, coordinate, and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives safely and efficiently
• Comply with the collective bargaining agreement
• Contribute to the goal of Zero Injuries
• Supervise a team of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance, and other operational functions
• Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling, and equipment
• Supervise in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures, and guidelines
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for automotive testing equipment
• Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availability
• Maintain accurate records of hours, vacations, and time off requests
• Perform workplace inspections to ensure a clean and safe environment
• Procure parts, materials, and rentals as needed
• Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets
• Maintain good relations with internal customers and external suppliers
• Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and equipment

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or trade designation
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
• Experience with automated equipment, preferably in automotive assembly or testing
• 3-5 years of experience in a unionized environment
• Knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles is a plus
• Willingness to accept various assignments
• Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OHSA Regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software
• Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
