We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
Note:
- 100% onsite
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required, along with a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
- Supervise unionized experimental mechanics supporting testing operations
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritize experimental mechanic activities to meet testing operation objectives safely and efficiently
- Comply with the collective bargaining agreement
- Contribute to the goal of Zero Injuries
- Supervise a team of experimental mechanics performing test setup, test rig maintenance, and other operational functions
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions for activities, tooling, and equipment
- Supervise in accordance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs for automotive testing equipment
- Prioritize tasks and manpower based on urgency and workforce availability
- Maintain accurate records of hours, vacations, and time off requests
- Perform workplace inspections to ensure a clean and safe environment
- Procure parts, materials, and rentals as needed
- Track data for KPI and KAI performance targets
- Maintain good relations with internal customers and external suppliers
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials and equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certificate of Qualification as an engineering technologist or trade designation
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
- Experience with automated equipment, preferably in automotive assembly or testing
- 3-5 years of experience in a unionized environment
- Knowledge of automobiles and electric vehicles is a plus
- Willingness to accept various assignments
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Code, OHSA Regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software
- Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
