Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and manage the maintenance operations within our facility. This role involves reviewing and prioritizing work orders, managing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all activities comply with regulatory guidelines. The Maintenance Supervisor will troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate with on-site contractors, and maintain effective communication across departments. Additional responsibilities include attending production meetings, ensuring food safety compliance, motivating the team, and leading efforts to improve production methods and equipment performance. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Review work orders and notifications and work with planner to meet timelines.
  2. Create and print SAP work orders and PO requests.
  3. Organize and execute PM priorities on a daily basis.
  4. Ensure that all work is completed in a manner that complies with Government regulatory guidelines.
  5. Provide troubleshooting and support for unscheduled line shutdowns.
  6. Manage and direct the work of on-site contractors when necessary.
  7. Maintain an open line of interdepartmental communication.
  8. Attend morning production meetings and all other appropriate meetings.
  9. Liaison with QA over quality issues to ensure food safety.
  10. Maintain employee safety while ensuring Aspire Bakeries plant safety policies and practices are adhered to.
  11. Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
  12. Ensure all reliable weekly startup of all production areas.
  13. Estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  14. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
  15. Member of Food Safety Committee- Ensure that compliance to the policies and procedures of the facility, regulatory and customer requirements are being met.
  16. Responsible for tracking and predicting equipment failures and implementing improvement strategies based on data before equipment failure occurs.
  17. Lead the team through the process of troubleshooting breakdowns, downtime reports, and root cause fault analysis.
  18. Maintain and provide training records.
  19. Create a positive work environment.
  20. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. A Millwright or Electrician licensed to practice in Ontario or have an Engineering degree/diploma is required.
  2. 5-7 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  3. Certification as a class B refrigeration operator would be an asset.
  4. Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  6. Must be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to lead others.
  7. Proven trades experience in technical problem-solving and decision-making.
  8. Must be willing to pursue additional certification/licenses.
  9. The willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  10. Knowledge of Government regulations as they apply to OHSA.
  11. Knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP.
