Alcot Plastics Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Specialist to maintain and improve plastic foam extrusion machinery and facility systems.

This role focuses on reliability, preventive maintenance, and contributing to a growing maintenance function with opportunities for leadership advancement. The ideal candidate will implement preventive programs, troubleshoot complex equipment, and collaborate across departments to boost performance, safety, and efficiency.

Formación

• Technical training or a diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and industrial controls.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems is an asset.
• Manufacturing or foam extrusion equipment experience is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in developing leadership capabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plastic foam extrusion machinery, production equipment, and facility systems.
• Develop and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Identify root causes of recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions.
• Support new equipment installations, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage critical spare parts and inventory.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Collaborate with Production and other departments to improve equipment performance, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Take ownership of maintenance priorities, share technical knowledge, and help establish maintenance standards and best practices.
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and leadership potential while supporting the development of a proactive maintenance culture.
• Engage with outside contractors for PM coordination and with other agencies for modification of existing machines and new equipment installation projects.
