Hydro Global Business Services (GBS) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright to join our North American operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain extrusion equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and support building systems across our manufacturing sites.

Expect to complete work orders, update maintenance records, and participate in continuous improvement efforts. A valid Ontario Certificate and 5 years in industry are required; aluminium extrusion experience is

Formación

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within industrial environment.
• Experience in the aluminium extrusion industry is an asset.
• Valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright required.
• Ability to read blueprints, and work with hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and welding tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot and repair extrusion equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance checks and complete work orders.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and document downtime in the maintenance system.
• Update spare parts data and train apprentices on fundamentals.
• Observe safety guidelines and rotate shifts as directed by management.

What you will be doing

Key responsibilities:

• Effective troubleshooting and repair of extrusion equipment.
• Carry out day to day preventative maintenance checks.
• Complete assigned work orders.
• Respond to equipment breakdown calls.
• Continually update spare parts data.
• Report in SCS/ Maintenance database completed work orders and equipment downtime.
• Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment related to production
  operations and building systems.
• Identify root and trend analysis, providing innovative solutions to resolve and remedy hydraulic
  and pneumatic issues.
• Provide recommendations for continual improvements and maximize efficiencies.
• Pass on technical/mechanical information to mechanical apprentice.
• Learn extrusion processes from mechanic A.
• Maintain a safe work environment, complying with the Company's Health & Safety guidelines.
• New hires may be required to rotate shifts (Midnights, Afternoons and Day shift – the frequency
  of the rotation will be determined by the manager

What will make you successful?

Work Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within industrial environment.
• Experience in the aluminium extrusion industry is an asset.

Education

• High school diploma or work experience equivalent.

Functional/Technical Knowledge:

• Must possess a valid Ontario Provincial Certificate of Qualifications as Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright.
• Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and welding d
• Good troubleshooting skills.
• Able to do basic welding and torching.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple daily assignments with minimal
  supervision.
• Knowledge of extrusion equipment would be a definite asse
