This is a non-union position

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to work collaboratively with a high functioning team to drive continuous improvement, capture requirements and support our business objectives. You will assist the area supervisor(s) with future maintenance activities such as maintenance planning and scheduling, outage coordination, procuring materials, developing work order requests, and coordinating field maintenance contractors and ensure that resources are identified for effective and efficient work execution.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and document maintenance work packages.
  • Identify requirements of equipment isolation and lock-out plans. Collaborate with technicians and area field engineers as needed.
  • Communicate site/area operational outage requirements with the Region Outage Coordinator.
  • Assist in the development of area outage plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate with SCM (Supply Chain Management) to specify and procure parts and materials.
  • Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a driver’s abstract check prior to hire.

Who You Are

  • Eight or more years of previous field operations experience OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience OR related university degree and six‐plus years’ experience.
  • Millwright or Mechanical trade certification, diploma, or degree preferred
  • 5 or more years of planning and/or scheduling experience with equivalent technical and operational experience in the industry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize based on criticality.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision, or a part of a broad team.
  • Deep understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling concepts as well as maintenance practices, performances measures, scheduling tools, and techniques.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (preferably MAXIMO) and Oracle.

Working Conditions

  • Office setting (60%), Field setting (40%)
  • Travel throughout the region for emergencies, training, and region meetings within Canada and Unites States.
  • Occasional daily travel of 50-100 miles between assigned stations.
  • Work is often required in high-noise level areas and areas where vapor from crude oil and solvents may be present.
