Job summary

Canduct Industries in London, ON is seeking an Afternoon Maintenance Millwright to join our 100% on-site team. The role runs Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with a training rate starting at $40 per hour.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a woodworking environment is an asset.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings.
  • Great attendance is a critical requirement.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
  • Interpret engineering specs, schematics, and diagrams to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery using hand and power tools.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on wood CNC machines, bandsaws, pumps, ovens, cranes, and lifters.
  • Inspect machinery to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Operate lathes and grinders to fabricate parts during overhaul or setup.
  • Ensure safety and efficiency on production lines and participate in team activities.

Canduct Industries is a leading manufacturer in electrical insulation, primarily used for cooling for oil cooled transformers. We are looking for an Afternoon Maintenance Millwright in London, ON.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the repair/adjustment, maintenance, and installation of various types of equipment.
  • Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams, to determine work procedures.
  • Inform, record, and report as required or appropriate.
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, conduct preventative maintenance as scheduled on various types of wood CNC, bandsaws, pumps, ovens, overhead cranes, and vacuum lifters to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance of equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Operate machine tolls such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.
  • Ensure safe operation of equipment by recommending changes to production line to improve efficiency.
  • Responsible to participate in team activities and perform duties safely in a manner that reflects sense of urgency with respect to meeting deadlines and goals.
  • Participate in company programs such as 5S, elimination of waste, team meetings and training.
  • Conduct all work activities that is supportive of a team effort.
  • Actively participate in the company’s health and safety, environmental and operational programs.
  • Identify spare parts and assist with updating CMMS system.
  • May be reassigned to other work matching their qualifications from time to time.
  • May also be required to complete other duties as assigned.
Qualified Candidates will have:
  • 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a woodworking environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Great attendance is a critical requirement.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprint drawings.
  • Basic Math skills – ability to measure and calculate.
  • The ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, which may include bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, standing, walking, repetitive motion, and other job specific requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
