Responsibilities include repairs, preventive maintenance, safety compliance, and working with vendors. The position requires at least 2 years in healthcare maintenance and the ability to lift 50+ pounds; a vulnerability sector check is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' hands-on maintenance experience, ideally in healthcare/seniors living settings.
• Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall repairs preferred.
• Clean criminal record with a vulnerable sector check (mandatory).
• Physically able to perform demanding tasks—lifting 50+ pounds, climbing, bending, moving throughout the facility.
• Certifications (Building Operator, Trade Certifications, WHMIS, Safety/First Aid) are a big plus.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy for digital work orders.

Responsibilities

• Facility & Equipment Repairs: manage minor to moderate repairs or coordinate contractors for larger projects.
• Routine & Preventive Maintenance: inspect infrastructure, fixtures, safety equipment, and lighting regularly.
• Prepare Living Spaces: paint and refresh rooms to welcome new residents.
• Safety & Compliance: ensure compliance with fire, health, and building regulations; respond to maintenance emergencies.
• Work Order Management: manage maintenance requests using facility software so nothing is overlooked.
• Resident & Staff Support: interact with residents and staff in a sensitive environment.
