Job summary
Irving Oil Ltd. in Saint John, NB is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student to join the Maintenance Engineering team as a co-op intern.
You will help ensure the safe, reliable operation of refinery assets and assist in troubleshooting, maintenance strategies, and engineering solutions to minimize downtime. On-site at the refinery, you will collaborate with Area Teams, Operations, Reliability, and Planning to maintain codes and asset integrity, with daily transport to the refinery your
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering (2nd–4th year).
- Must return to school after the work term.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license is preferred.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and codes is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Develop Engineering Work Orders (EWOs) for repair and maintenance of equipment and piping.
- Submit Management of Change (MOC) requests.
- Perform drawing markups for updates.
- Perform field walks to investigate jobs.
- Liaise with 3rd party contractors, Operations, Project and Maintenance managers and Subject Matter Experts related to pipeline and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all work complies with refinery safety standards and procedures.
