Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Process Control, Computer Science, or Environmental Engineering from a Canadian Accredited University.
  • University Engineering student available for a work term beginning in January or May 2027
  • Currently enrolled in a University Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
  • A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required
  • Your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application

Responsibilities

  • As an Engineering Intern, support one of our specialized teams within refinery operations, including Process Engineering, Applications & Systems, Environmental Engineering, or Maintenance Reliability Engineer.
  • Collaborate with operations, reliability, and automation engineers to support safe and reliable unit operation.
  • Identify, develop, and implement operational and facility improvements focusing on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability.
  • Communicate the status of unit operations, improvement opportunities, and operating costs to various stakeholders.
  • Support routine energy, environmental, and cost reporting
  • Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority
  • Develop new applications and maintain the performance of existing ones.
  • Support software/database requirements
  • For Maintenance Reliability Engineer intern: produce and maintain technical documentation, manage deviations through Change Management, manage site bad actor lists, PSV/TSV testing and RCFAs, stay updated with ExxonMobil networks, support capital project designs/specifications, support turnaround activities and develop preventive maintenance plans.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process Control, Computer Science, or Environmental Engineering (Canadian Accredited University)
University Engineering student available for January or May 2027 work term
Currently enrolled in an Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term
Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
