Job summary

Lactalis Canada is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team, ensuring safe operation of automated dairy production lines. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, read ladder logic, and perform preventative maintenance across production equipment.

Preferred candidates hold a Red Seal license and have experience with SAP and Allen-Bradley PLCs. The role requires team collaboration and occasional duties beyond electrical tasks.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Electrician license.
• Experience with TIG welding of steel and stainless steel.
• Experience with machine troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience with pneumatics and control circuits.
• Willingness to support maintenance team beyond electrician duties.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, install, repair, test and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control circuits and machine failures.
• Troubleshoot and repair Allen-Bradley programs.
• Read and interpret programming/ladder logic.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Complete all required documentation and reports.

Job Purpose

As a key member of the maintenance team the Maintenance Electrician is responsible for the following but not limited to; maintain and troubleshoot automated production equipment & mechanical components used for the manufacture of dairy products. Additionally, they will warrant safe plant working environments for all employees.

Responsibility

• Utilization of all technical skills required to perform tasks related to dismantling, instillation, repair, testing, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control circuits, electrical and mechanical machine failures and issues
• Troubleshooting and repair of various programs (Allen Bradley).
• Clear understanding of how to read programming
• Perform and participate in preventative maintenance and repair on all production equipment to minimize downtime.
• Completing all pertinent documents and reports, as may be required by management or the government, in an accurate and legible format.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial Electrician license.
• Experience and knowledge on basic TIG welding of steel and stainless steel.
• Experience with machine troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
• Hands on troubleshooting experience and working knowledge of pneumatics, control circuits
• Ability to do maintenance work in addition to electrical, this role requires the flexibility to support maintenance team outside of electrician duties
• Both building and machine electrical work required
• Ability to work at various heights.
• Ability to identify, problem solve and research alternatives within the scope of the job.
• Experience with SAP, Microsoft office (Excel, Word etc.)
• Good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team based environment.
• PLC experience an asset
