Job summary

Johnson Electric in Ancaster, Ontario is seeking a Maintenance Co-op to support upkeep of production and facility equipment. You will work under a licensed journeyman, completing preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs to keep uptime high. Training includes 8000 hours of OJT with a focus on safety and 5S.

Ideal candidates bring Grade 12 or GED, strong math/diagnostics, and good communication. The role is onsite with shift flexibility and potential for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED with proof to ministry when registering.
• Commitment to Day Release schooling and apprenticeship.
• Complete 8000 hours of practical OJT training for certification.
• Experience in machining environment; CNC exposure is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication across organization.
• Able to lift 40-45 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production and facility equipment to maximize uptime.
• Inspect machinery for defects and perform preventive maintenance.
• Complete work orders safely and thoroughly in a timely manner.
• Assist Journeyman with modifications and repairs to machinery.
• Install new equipment with outside services as needed.
