Job summary

Germain Hotels group is seeking a Maintenance Handyperson to support a hotel complex. You will conduct routine interior and exterior maintenance, inspect systems, and assist with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks under the maintenance supervisor.

You should be physically able to lift up to 100 pounds, have a high school diploma or equivalent in building mechanics, and be prepared to work hands-on in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in maintaining commercial buildings.
• Ability to perform preventive and routine maintenance tasks.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving materials and using basic hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment visually and monitor for maintenance needs.
• Participate in preventive building maintenance procedures.

Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager of a hotel complex, the Maintenance Handyperson performs general interior and exterior maintenance work. The incumbent must be able to carry out tasks related to building mechanics, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and various minor repairs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Proceed to visual inspection of the equipment
• Actively participate in preventive building maintenance procedures
• Perform daily maintenance work and reflect their activities in their schedule
• Perform interior and exterior work
• Report any defective systems and make the necessary corrections
• Possibility of gathering materiel outside the property
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects by move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder
• Responsible for maintaining all mechanical component of the building under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor
• Proceed to minor electrical work (ex: light bulbs change)
• Ensure that service manuals are follow during preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of systems or components and adhere to sound engineering practices, building codes and health & safety precautions

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Experience in building maintenance
• High school Diploma or College diploma in mechanical technic of a building or an equivalent is an asset
• In good physical condition, capable of handling heavy materials and perform labour intensive duties, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 100 pounds without assistance

The hourly salary for this role is between $22.00 and $26.00 depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
