Job summary

Germain Hotels group seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee interior and exterior property maintenance and related administrative duties.

Reporting to the National Director of Maintenance and the Hotel General Manager, you will coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, and minor repairs while managing the department budget and coordinating with vendors and hotel departments for smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or equivalent.
• Diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related field (asset).
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and labour-intensive duties (≤100 pounds).

Job description

• Pay or shift range: $70,000 CAD to $88,000 CAD. We take care of our people, and that starts with clarity. The salary or hourly range for this role is shared in this posting, and pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. If the role is unionized, compensation follows the current collective agreement. Where applicable, this position may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus plan.

Description

Reporting to the National Director of Maintenance and the Hotel General Manager, the Manager of Maintenance is responsible for overseeing both the interior and exterior maintenance of the property, as well as all related administrative management duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and performing building maintenance tasks, including mechanical systems, electrical work, plumbing, painting, and various minor repairs, while also monitoring and managing the department's budget. The Director of Maintenance will oversee vendors and subcontractors and coordinate maintenance activities with other hotel departments to ensure efficient operations and an exceptional guest experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Perform visual inspections of the equipment
• Actively participate in preventive building maintenance procedures
• Perform daily maintenance work and reflect their activities in their schedule
• Perform interior and exterior work
• Report any defective systems and make the necessary corrections
• Possibility of transporting materials from outside the property
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects by moving up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders
• Responsible for maintaining all mechanical components of the building
• Perform minor electrical work (ex: changing light bulbs)
• Ensure that service manuals are followed during preventive maintenance, repair, or replacement of systems or components and adhere to sound engineering practices, building codes and health & safety precautions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or equivalent experience.
• High school Diploma or College diploma in mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering, or an equivalent is an asset
• In good physical condition, capable of handling heavy materials and performing labour intensive duties such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 100 pounds without assistance.

The annual salary for this role is between 70 000$ and 88 000$ , depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
