Recrute Action in Richmond, BC, is seeking a mailroom/document handling assistant to support imaging, mail processing and print services. The role is on-site, a 4-month contract, with weekday hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and hourly pay of $19.59.

You will prepare customer documents for imaging, review quality, sort mail, operate mail equipment and maintain logs. Requires a high school diploma and 6 months to 1 year in a professional setting; 1–2 years in a mailroom preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a professional working environment, including client-facing experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a mailroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer documents for the digital imaging process.
  • Review physical documents for quality issues that may affect scanning.
  • Prepare a variety of document types for scanning.
  • Index scanned images according to customer and leadership requirements.
  • Assist with additional print-related workflows as needed.
  • Receive, sort and process mail documents, packages and supplies, and notify recipients.
  • Record and process accountable mail information and maintain logs.
  • Operate mail equipment, including inserters, sorters and finishing equipment.
  • Perform quality checks on outbound mail.
  • Perform mail labeling and mail merge activities.
  • Perform electronic mail distribution, including opening, preparing, scanning and distributing mail.
  • Complete fulfillment activities such as assembly, packaging and kitting of materials.
  • Follow mailroom security procedures.
  • Deliver and collect mail on scheduled routes.
  • Move boxes, load paper into machines and support operational workflow requirements.
  • Perform other assigned duties to meet business needs.

What you will need to succeed:
Education and certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
Required experience
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a professional working environment, including experience in a client-facing environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a mailroom environment.
Technical and professional skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate high-volume mail and insertion equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Physical requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat and reach without issue.
  • Ability to walk and push a mail cart.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new processes and procedures.
